Formless, All Pervasive Shiva

About "Formless, All Pervasive Shiva"
Shiva is known to exist in several states – the formless state denotes the omnipresence of Shiva and encompassing the universe in its entirety. The artist seems to depict a wounded Shiva, unwilling to look at humankind – perhaps from the evil and guile prevalent in the world today. The crescent moon is meant to symbolize Shiva’s control over nature, and his eternal essence.
The artist moves away from depicting him as the god of destruction, portraying him as saddened by the lack of purity and peace. This imagery arouses curiosity and intrigue given its evocativeness, and suitably captures more than one attribute that Shiva is known to represent. The viewer must use imagination to understand since Shiva himself transcends boundaries of description and definition.
