Captivating Strains of His Flute
"Captivating Strains of His Flute" painting by Subhash
About "Captivating Strains of His Flute"
The artist is aware that blue is the color of infinity – anything that cannot be measured appears blue to the eye. The day sky or the ocean depths – both appear blue to humans. The use of this color to depict Krishna sitting amongst the cowherds and cattle, while playing the flute is representative of the finite human form taken on by the all-pervading and infinite Being.
The music emanating from the flute is referred to as captivating and enchanting – ensuring that birds, cows, trees, flowers, and humans remain in a trance. The moon seems to have drawn closer to listen. All those around are in rapt attention to the ethereal Being and his flute.
