About "The Dark Side "
The artist’s portrayal of a woman seems spontaneous but exhausting – it is poignant and dark. The woman in the painting seems somber, evil, disheveled – a strange mix of connotations. Despite all these underlying dark undertones, it seems like a classical depiction of femininity.
It is not however necessary that the viewer may see the portrayal as intended by the artist and the interpretation could be completely polarized. One thing however is true – the abstract and stirring portrayal of the woman jumps out of the canvas, revealing the striking ability of the artist. While it is contemporary, it does simultaneously evoke something alien, making it uncanny yet familiar.
