About " Maakhan Chor "

This is the artist’s version of the favorite pass time of Krishna – imploring for / stealing butter. Bal Gopala, the divine child was a mischievous prankster who went from house to house stealing butter. The piece of art here shows him hugging his mother and pleading for a bowl full of the delicious butter she is churning, as his father looks on with amusement and love.

The artist has used blue as the predominant color to indicate the eternal spiritual body of Krishna that emits blue aura. Blue is limitless and also a reminder that Krishna drank poisoned milk as a baby, fed to him by a demon.
